Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi elemen pengurangan risiko bencana
dalam pendidikan geografi dengan menempatkan Sumatera Barat sebagai konteks wilayah kajian.
Sumatera Barat merupakan salah satu daerah di Indonesia yang memiliki karakteristik kebencanaan
kompleks karena rentan terhadap berbagai ancaman, seperti gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir, tanah
longsor, letusan gunung api, abrasi, cuaca ekstrem, kekeringan, serta kebakaran hutan dan lahan.
Dengan menggunakan Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 sebagai kerangka
analisis, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis bencana yang relevan dalam pembelajaran
geografi serta menelaah sejauh mana elemen pengurangan risiko bencana terintegrasi dalam materi
dan orientasi pembelajaran geografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan geografi
memiliki potensi kuat dalam membangun literasi kebencanaan peserta didik, terutama melalui
pengenalan bahaya, pemahaman penyebab dan dampak bencana, analisis spasial, serta pemanfaatan
peta rawan bencana sebagai sumber belajar kontekstual. Elemen yang paling menonjol adalah
pemahaman risiko bencana, sedangkan aspek tata kelola risiko, investasi ketangguhan, penggunaan
teknologi, partisipasi masyarakat, dan kesiapsiagaan berbasis sekolah masih perlu diperkuat.
Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan geografi di Sumatera Barat perlu diarahkan tidak hanya
pada penguasaan konsep kebencanaan, tetapi juga pada pembentukan kesadaran spasial,
keterampilan mitigasi, dan perilaku kesiapsiagaan peserta didik sesuai dengan karakteristik risiko
lokal.
